Die Zukunft der Kommunikation ist digital.

Digitale Kommunikation ist auf dem Vormarsch. In Geschäften und in Schaufenstern werben digitale Displays für Produkte, auch in Bahnhöfen und auf Flugplätzen hat digitale Werbung Einzug gehalten. Digitale Botschaften sprechen zu uns von Haus-Fassaden und in Fußball-Stadien. Stadion-Shows ohne den Einsatz von großflächigen LED-Wänden machen keinen Sinn, wer will schon den Künstler aus 100m Entfernung mit dem Opern-Glas verfolgen.

Digitale Bildwände waren ursprünglich für den Einsatz in Innenräumen konzipiert und bestehen aus einzelnen Cabinets, die zu einem größeren Screen zusammengefügt werden. Das war lange Zeit und ist noch das Werk von Spezialisten, denn am Ende wünscht der Kunde ein Bild und ist nicht daran interessiert, wie es technisch erzeugt wird.

Bildwände im Außenbereich unterliegen bestimmten Bedingungen, aus denen Probleme erwachsen können.

Aufgrund ihres modularen Aufbaus müssen alle Cabinets mit Strom und Signal versorgt werden; der Ausfall eines Cabinets führt zu unerwünschten allgemein sichtbaren schwarzen Feldern im Bild. Aus diesem Grund sind in der Regel Service-Techniker während des gesamten Einsatzes vor Ort, um bei Bedarf eingreifen zu können. Das macht den Einsatz dieser Technik teuer.
Die Verbinder der Cabinets sind nicht darauf ausgelegt, Windkräfte aufzunehmen und abzuleiten. Sind LED-Wände im Bühnen-Inneren installiert, so erschweren sie die geforderte Abtakelung Bühnenwände, um den Zustand „Außer Betrieb“ herzustellen. Sind sie seitlich der Bühnen auf modularen Konsolen montiert, müssen sie als Fläche auch dem Sturm standhalten können, was nicht immer gelingt.

LED-Trailer helfen, die geschilderten Probleme zu vermeiden. Die smartScreen-Serie von Kultour ist so konstruiert, dass bis auf die Zuleitung alle Strom- und Signalkabel in ihrer Position verbleiben. Das erhöht die Einsatzsicherheit enorm, sind doch sehr häufig Probleme bei der Verbindung der einzelnen Cabinets Ursache für Störung und Ausfall.

Auch in statischer Hinsicht sind die Trailer mehrfach den modularen Systemen überlegen (negativ Beispiel siehe hier): Einerseits verfügt jeder Trailer über einen statisch geprüften Stahlrahmen, der die Windkräfte aufnimmt und in dem Mast ableitet. Darüber hinaus kann eine Abtakelung binnen weniger Minuten erfolgen: die Gefahr bei Sturm für Mensch und Material sinkt signifikant.

Umgekehrt bedeutet dies auch: Binnen weniger Minuten ist das System spielbereit. Das führt zu einem Zuwachs an Einsätzen bei deutlich weniger Personal. Ein smartScreen-Trailer ist in der Regel deutlich rentabler als ein modulares System gleicher Größe.

Mobile LED-Lösungen werden auf unterschiedlichen Fahrzeugen angeboten: Dir Range reicht vom kleinen 2,6-Tonnen Anhänger über Container-Lösungen bis zu LED-Trucks mit Sattel-Aufliegern als Basis für LED-Screens. Darüber hinaus gibt es eingehauste Systeme, bei denen der Screen aus einer Box herausfährt, sowie Lösungen ohne Einhausung, die unter Andrem als „Cabrio“ angeboten werden. Je robuster die Led-Technik gegen Regen und Feuchtigkeit wird, desto entbehrlicher werden die Einhausungen, die ja nicht unerheblich zu den Herstellungskosten ihren Beitrag leisten.

Kultour hat derzeit drei verschiedene smartScreen-Typen im Programm:

Der smartScreen 25 bietet 25m² LED-Wand auf Basis eines 3,5-Tonnen-Anhängers. Was ihn vom Wettbewerb unterscheidet ist die Klapptechnik, mit der die Bildwand für den Transport horizontal eingeklappt wird. Keine der Verbindungen muss bei der hydraulischen Fahrt gelöst werden, daher ist dieser Typ auch unter seinen Wettbewerbern am schnellsten spielbereit.
Der smartScreen 15 kommt jetzt mit dem neuen, vom smartScreen 25 abgeleiteten Basement als 1-Master mit einem Schwenkbereich von 270° auf Basis eines 2,6-Tonnen-Anhängers.
Der smartScreen Guide kombiniert auf einzigartige Weise die Vorteile einer LED-Wand mit dem Nutzen eines Leitsystems. Er fährt elektro-hydraulisch aus seiner Box und kann den Bildschirm vertikal oder horizontal einstellen. Der smartScreen Guide hat kein Fahrgestell und wird mit Kran oder Stapler auf den LKW geladen. Ein Sattelzug kann 11 smartScreen Guides transportieren.

The future of communication is digital.

Digital communication is on the rise. Digital displays advertise products in shops and shop windows, and digital advertising has also found its way into railway stations and airports. Digital messages speak to us from house facades and in football stadiums. Stadium shows without the use of large-scale LED walls make no sense, who wants to follow the artist from 100m away with opera glass.

Digital screens were originally designed for indoor use and consist of individual cabinets that are joined together to form a larger screen. For a long time this was and still is the work of specialists, because in the end the customer wants an image and is not interested in how it is technically produced.

Outdoor picture walls are subject to certain conditions from which problems can arise.

Due to their modular construction, all cabinets must be supplied with power and signal; the failure of a cabinet leads to undesirable generally visible black fields in the image. For this reason, service technicians are usually on site during the entire operation to be able to intervene if necessary. This makes the use of this technique expensive.
The connectors of the cabinets are not designed to absorb and dissipate wind forces. If LED walls are installed inside the stage, they make the required rigging of stage walls difficult to achieve the "out of service" condition. If they are mounted on modular brackets at the side of the stages, they must also be able to withstand the storm as a surface, which is not always possible.

LED trailers help to avoid the problems described. Kultour's smartScreen series is designed in such a way that all power and signal cables remain in position except for the supply cable. This increases operational safety enormously, as problems with the connection of the individual cabinets are very often the cause of malfunctions and failures.

From a static point of view, the trailers are also superior to the modular systems in several ways: on the one hand, each trailer has a statically tested steel frame that absorbs the wind forces and dissipates them in the mast. In addition, rigging can be completed within a few minutes: the danger to people and material during storms is significantly reduced.

Conversely, this also means that the system is ready for use within a few minutes. This leads to an increase in operations with significantly fewer personnel. A smartScreen trailer is usually much more profitable than a modular system of the same size.

Mobile LED solutions are offered on different vehicles: The range extends from small 2.6-tonne trailers to container solutions and LED trucks with semi-trailers as the basis for LED screens. In addition, there are enclosed systems where the screen moves out of a box, as well as solutions without enclosure, which are offered as "convertibles", among others. The more robust the LED technology becomes against rain and moisture, the more dispensable the enclosures become, which make a not inconsiderable contribution to the manufacturing costs.

The smartScreen 25 offers 25m² of LED screen based on a 3.5-ton trailer. What distinguishes it from the competition is the folding technology with which the screen is folded horizontally for transport. None of the connections have to be loosened during hydraulic travel, which is why this type is also the quickest to set up among its competitors.
The smartScreen 15 now comes with the new basement derived from the smartScreen 25 as a 1-master with a 270° swivel range based on a 2.6 tonne trailer.
The smartScreen Guide uniquely combines the advantages of an LED wall with the benefits of a guidance system. It moves out of its box electro-hydraulically and can adjust the screen vertically or horizontally. The smartScreen Guide has no chassis and is loaded onto the truck by crane or forklift. One articulated lorry can transport 11 smartScreen Guides.
